Project details:

APP successfully redevelops historic ANZAC Park buildings

Bisected by ANZAC Parade, the ANZAC Park in Canberra is a heritage site of high historic significance to Australians.

Both the East and West divisions of the park had buildings requiring redevelopment, and APP was appointed to manage the project.

Approximately 24,000m2 had to be refurbished across either building, with the goal being to redevelop the site to incorporate the most efficient use of floor space, while preserving the site’s heritage value within the historic Parliamentary triangle.

The ANZAC Park West Cafeteria building is listed on the Register of National Estate (RNE), and was also refurbished as part of the project.

The West building redevelopment is fully government tenanted, housing the offices of the Australian Federal Police (AFP) and the Canberra branch of the Australian Crime Commission (ACC). This allows the AFP to consolidate its accommodation from 10 dispersed sites around the ACT into 2-3 principal sites over the next few years.
