Business Continuity Planning
APP Designs and Implements a Business Continuity Plan for a Strategic Defence Unit
As part of its relationship with the Australian Defence Force, APP was appointed to provide expertise in the development of Business Continuity Plans (BCP).
Previously, Defence had determined that all units/agencies in the ADF would require BCP to ensure uninterrupted continuity in the event of unplanned disruptions or threats. This program was initiated to respond to threats to the continuity of Defence operations, whether at home or abroad.
The Directorate of Explosive Ordnance Services, with which APP has a growing relationship, required an accelerated effort to put a BCP in place. APP provided an experienced consultant to initially upgrade risk planning, and ultimately to complete a BCP to meet the standard required by the Vice Chief of Defence.
“We were a perfect fit for the role,” says Paul Spinolo, APP Group General Manager. “We’d had previous exposure to explosive ordinance issues, particularly logistics, and we developed a plan to keep supply moving.”
APP completed this expert task within the time frame required, and developed a BCP that would ensure that the Explosive Ordnance Services unit would continue to operate under all circumstances.
