I initially joined the Projects division and began working on the Pirtek Stadium Upgrade, where I managed the construction of the West Stand players change room upgrade, procured and executed the delivery of the players/staff temporary facilities, and managed the overall project cost report. As someone who is passionate about sport, having played Aussie rules since I was 10 and currently playing in the Sydney Australian Football League premier division, getting the opportunity to work on sport-related projects at APP was a huge bonus.
Once I had completed the graduate program, I chose to settle in the Projects team where I’ve remained since. I found the work in this business unit really interesting and felt that I was given a lot of responsibility to really own my work. I knew that the Projects team had a lot of experience working on sport-related projects which really appealed to me, and I felt that I could benefit from the plethora of knowledge my team members had.
Ensuring employees are happy and fulfilled at work is a huge part of APP’s culture and values, so if you express an interest in something then the company will definitely listen. For me, sport has always been a huge part of my life and my identity, so the fact that I get to come into the office every day and work on projects that truly interest and excite me on a personal level is incredible.
