The Boomerang Effect

After completing a Bachelor of Liberal Studies majoring in psychology and international relations, I spent some time soul searching overseas and realised I needed to find a career I was passionate about.
Alex Brun

I’ve always had an interest in anything related to property, real estate, architecture and construction, so I obtained a temporary role at a construction company before landing a Team Coordinator role at APP.

I quickly worked my way up, moving into a Project Coordinator role within my first year which saw me travelling interstate to work on fit outs and other exciting projects. I still had a strong interest in real estate, so after a few years at APP I left to pursue a career as a Real Estate Agent. After two years in real estate, I missed the high level strategic work involved in the property industry so I rejoined APP in their urban development team. I was embraced with open arms and enjoyed that I was able to bring a new perspective to the team, which has led to some amazing site investment opportunities, further building on the comprehensive service offering of the urban development team.

Spending that time away in a different role provided me with new skills and approaches which led me to finding my niche at APP. I’m now able to pursue a transactional side of our business, representing landowners selling their properties and taking a proactive role in identifying opportunities to help individuals or groups of landowners increase the value of their land through rezoning or other pre-development strategies. I think our clients really value our ability to connect developers, real estate agents and landowners together to create value in their property, and there’s definitely a sense of accomplishment that I can facilitate that process and really understand the needs of our clients.
