Building a Sustainable Housing project for Clarendon and Landcom

Landcom, together with Clarendon Homes, has designed and built a number of Eco-Living Display Homes which showcase sustainable and green products, with features and designs that are current best practice. This includes achieving anywhere from 6 to 8 star ratings, based on the use of recycled material and environmentally friendly products. Some of these ‘new-age’ homes generate zero emissions.

As Project Manager for Clarendon, APP has been jointly responsible on this project for design review and management, managing consultant inputs, council negotiations, securing approvals, program management, cost management, and delivery (together with the Construction Manager).

APP worked closely with Clarendon’s project team, which included architectural and interior design groups, and sustainability and construction managers, to prepare the plans and documentation required for development approvals.

APP’s team was integrated into the Clarendon office to drive the multiple simultaneous design and development programs, whilst keeping a watchful eye on costs. This approach facilitated the coordination and communication processes between the various internal and external stakeholders across Design, Sustainability, Estimating, Marketing and Builders.

The project was a finalist in the Housing Industry Association Greensmart Awards for Benchmark Homes, and won an award for Resource Efficiency
