Exercise Talisman Sabre 2015

Project details:

Exercise Talisman Sabre 2015 (ExTS 15) was a United States-led, Australian-supported combined exercise and the sixth in a series of Australian and United States bilateral, biennial exercises. ExTS15 was the largest military exercise ever held in Australia with around 20,000 US and 10,000 Australian troops operating across the north of Australia. Locations included Defence Establishment Berrimah, RAAF Darwin, Robertson Barracks, Bradshaw Field Training Area and Kangaroo Flats Training Area.  The exercise was conducted throughout July 2015, including a period of lead up training.

This scale of this exercise required the equivalent of a suburban city to be constructed within an extremely tight programme. In the month preceding the commencement of the exercise, APP as part of the Transfield Services' Delivery Team, managed the construction of numerous tent cities to house over 3000 personnel. These tent cities included kitchen and messing facilities, ablution blocks and laundries. During the exercise APP coordinated logistic and life support activities in support of the military including cleaning services, waste removal, transportation, security, land management and maintenance support.

Following completion of the successful exercise, APP managed the deconstruction of the tent cities and remediation of the sites.
