Hunter Business Chamber Newcastle

Project details:

The Hunter Business Chamber in Newcastle is one of the oldest business Chambers and largest regional Chamber in Australia, representing almost 2000 members.  Following a strategic decision to relocate closer to Newcastle’s transport hub and new geographic CBD, the Chamber settled on premises within the TAFE Parry Street Wickham campus.

APP partnered with the Chamber to manage their office fit out within the Great Northern Brewery building.  APP acted as the Chamber’s Client Representative for the planning, design development and delivery.  The Chamber also enlisted the assistance of several Chamber members including consultants and contractors.

With its heritage listing, any new construction within the Brewery building was required to comply and integrate seamlessly with the existing heritage components. APP, contractor Graph Building, and the project team overcame this challenge to deliver a high-quality facility that combines the sophistication of a new office fit-out with the charm of a heritage listed building.

The 350m2 floor space incorporates private offices, open plan working areas, a meeting room, kitchenette and breakout zone.

The Chamber is entirely satisfied with their new premises and Chief Executive Kristen Keegan talks below about the project.
