On March 8, 2017, APP celebrated International Women’s Day (IWD). The day provided an opportunity for APP to celebrate and support the achievements of women in our workforce, to reflect on APP’s commitment to Diversity and Inclusion, and to challenge ourselves to do more in the future.
Across the country we celebrated with a high tea, a morning tea, men wearing pink shirts in support of women, and a clothing and accessories drive in support of Dress for Success, a charity that helps women in need become more employable and independent by providing stylish corporate outfits to help make a great first impression at their interviews, all free of charge.
Our parent company, Broadspectrum also hosted an afternoon tea with special guest and keynote speaker Jessica Rowe, an Australian journalist, author and television presenter. She is the co-host of Studio 10 on Network Ten and is a Member of the Order of Australia for her mental health advocacy and contribution to Australian media. Jessica spoke about the highs and lows of her professional career and the challenges she’s faced juggling a family and a successful career in the media industry.
