Project details:

PMO delivers benefits to Perth Airport’s $370m capital investment

APP was appointed by Perth Airport in 2010 to establish a Program Management Office (PMO) for Perth Airport’s $370m Capital Works program and manage the delivery of projects over two years. The program comprised the delivery of a broad range of projects impacting on every aspect of Perth Airport, covering services and transport infrastructure, terminal redevelopments and new commercial developments.

The establishment of the PMO and associated systems and processes has yielded considerable financial, risk management and occupational health and safety benefits to the Perth Airport business. APP and Perth Airport have worked together to gradually manage the transition of internal resources into key positions to replace APP personnel, minimising disruption to the program delivery and facilitating the development of a sustainable ongoing capability within Perth Airport.

APP has been able to draw on our extensive capacity and resource pool to help Perth Airport respond to pressure to rapidly ramp up delivery of its investment plan. We mobilised a team of 15 project management professionals within three weeks to respond to the challenges of compressed delivery timeframes on a number of projects whilst concurrently developing the systems for ongoing management of the Capital Works program.

APP continues to provide extensive project management support for the delivery of the capital works program in close collaboration with the client.  For a full description of the projects currently underway please click here.
