Holland Heineken House – Darling Harbour

Sydney Olympic Games 2000

Holland Heineken House, a hospitality facility built especially for the Sydney Olympics, was located adjacent to the Australian National Maritime Museum at Darling Harbour for the duration of the Sydney 2000 Olympics.

Holland Heineken House was a 74m x 40m solid walled two storey temporary structure that housed bars and catering areas on the ground floor, an indoor concert area, an Internet café, several offices and toilets. The structure was used to cater for the Dutch Olympic VIPs and the general public.

Heineken engaged The APP Group as the project manager for design development through to construction and bump out.

The success of the project was measured by the enlightening response from the Dutch athletes and Olympic officials, the amount of press received and the structure being at full capacity from 6pm to 4am every day of the Olympic fortnight.
