Project details:

APP helps South Australian Government deliver $290m rail development

Port Noarlunga is a suburb in the city of Onkaparinga, near Adelaide, and the new Seaford Rail Extension project provides a new electrified passenger railway from Noarlunga Centre to Seaford Central; a 5.7 km extension. It includes a new station adjacent to Seaford Central, with a Bus Interchange, and a new station at Seaford Meadows, including a Park and Ride facility.

New infrastructure includes an elevated bridge over the Onkaparinga River and valley, a rail bridge over Old Honeypot Road, and road bridges over the rail track at Goldsmith Drive, Seaford Road and Lynton Terrace. In addition, new access pathways and footbridges for pedestrians and cyclists will be provided, as well as extensive landscaping and urban design at points along the new rail corridor.  On completion the elevated bridge will be the third longest incremental bridge in the world and represents a very complex method of engineering construction.

As Independent Verifier on this project, APP/Hyder were required to verify that the project was designed and built to the meet the State’s requirements as specified in the Design and Construct Contract.
