Project details:

APP manages approval process and community consultation for four large scale wind farms

APP is helping RATCH Australia Corportaion (RAC) realise the value of its wind farm portfolio, just as we did for the previous portfolio owner, Transfield Services.  APP undertook environmental impact assessment, stakeholder liaison and community consultation as part of the approval process for each project, with a combined capital value of approximately $3 billion.

APP was instrumental in achieving project milestones, set against changing regulatory regimes and at-times volatile community interactions. APP’s project management skill and communications ability allowed the parallel demands of multiple projects to be reconciled: Barn Hill (SA), Ben More (Vic), Baynton (Vic) and Collector (NSW),

To successfully deliver development approval outcomes, APP developed an innovative, ‘environmental project management’ model. This approach pairs best-for-project technical consultants with APP’s in-house project management and environmental assessment heritage.

APP provided community engagement programs for all four projects. Wind farms are often highly contentious developments; however, as project managers with an intimate understanding of the project and the client’s needs, we have been able to deliver successful community consultation programs, facilitating meaningful public participation at all stages of the development cycle.

APP’s position as a trusted adviser was consolidated with the new portfolio owner, RAC, retaining the services of the APP project management team as an integral part of their renewable energy portfolio delivery
