Building the Education Revolution, Victoria
Revolutionising Victoria’s education infrastructure for Australia’s Nation Building program of works.
Building the Education Revolution (BER) was a major $16.2b Australian Government program to provide new and refurbished infrastructure for eligible Australian schools nationwide. In 2009, the Victorian Department of Education appointed The APP Group to provide project management and design services to the BER program throughout Melbourne’s Southern Metropolitan and Gippsland regions.
This was a major program in Victoria with a budget of $649 million, covering a combination of new facilities, refurbishments and relocatable buildings across 280 schools.
The APP Group was selected because of its ability to rapidly mobilise the project team, so that all works could be started on schedule and our proven ability to manage concurrent works on site. We deployed more than 100 staff to deliver the services; project managers, architects, engineers of all types and technical specialists. Our team then tendered and supervised over 40 concurrent works packages across the sites.
