The APP Group grows Transport business with senior appointment

The APP Group has announced the appointment of Arek Wilbrandt as a new Project Director within our Transport business.

Arek brings over 30 years of experience in delivering large scale complex infrastructure projects in the private and government sectors. Holding a Bachelor of Civil Engineering with honours from the University of Surrey, Arek began his career as a civil engineer working in engineering and project management on civil and rail infrastructure projects across the United Kingdom.  

Following his move to Australia, Arek worked at Laing O’Rourke Australia on large scale rail projects. Following this, he moved to Transport for NSW directing high profile programs of projects in brownfield rail capital works. During this time, he delivered Auburn Stabling and Clyde Junction, Hornsby Junction, and the Lidcombe to Granville Corridor Upgrade Program ahead of schedule and with significant savings through active strategic risk management.  

Commenting on his appointment, Arek said, “I am excited to join The APP Group to continue shaping many of Australia’s landmark transport infrastructure projects and programs. I look forward to providing value to our clients by delivering safe, reliable, and sustainable solutions for the benefit of the community and the environment.”

In his previous role as Project Director for Rail Projects Victoria, Arek successfully delivered the Avon River Bridge for the Gippsland Line Upgrade which was completed under budget and ahead of schedule. As part of this project, Apex Park was upgraded with local community and council input, for which the project was awarded the IAP2 2021 Core Values Awards Winner – Infrastructure (Construction).
