Overcoming challenges to deliver a logistics hub for Fashion Biz.
Fashion Biz is an international corporate apparel business headquartered in New Zealand and is one of the largest wholesale suppliers of uniforms, workwear and promotional garments in Australia. Previously the business had relied on other agencies to store and distribute its products. However, Fashion Biz decided to set itself up for growth by creating and commissioning a 7,500sqm facility in Perth, that would include new offices, a showroom and a warehouse.
The APP Group was engaged by Fashion Biz to deliver project management and superintendent services as well as procurement strategy advice for the project. A core feature of the warehouse was its three-tier racking and conveyor system, which needed careful coordination for compliance with Australian Standards and building regulations. In addition, extensive roof solar panels and sensors were included throughout the building to improve its sustainable design.
By paying close attention to the project requirements, our team were able to find solutions for site challenges including truck access, turning circles and fire protection solutions for the new facility. The new warehouse, showroom and offices became operational right on schedule at the beginning of 2017.
Through extensive project management experience and knowledge including spatial planning, service provisioning and scheduling, The APP Group delivered a seamless transition to the new facilities for Fashion Biz.
