New Royal Adelaide Hospital

New Royal Adelaide Hospital

Ensuring operational success from day one at a world-class hospital in South Australia.

The Royal Adelaide Hospital is South Australia’s flagship hospital, providing state-of-the-art care to more than 85,000 inpatients and 400,000 outpatients each year. The new hospital was designed to meet the needs of the community by offering technologically advanced healthcare across medical, surgical, emergency, acute mental health, outpatient and diagnostic fields.

The relocation to the new hospital called for strategic and rigorous planning to ensure operations could begin without delay. The APP Group was engaged by SA Health to project manage the relocation of 7,000 staff, 300 patients and 20,000 pieces of medical equipment to the New Royal Adelaide Hospital. Our role included evaluating the readiness of the hospital to begin operations, engaging with stakeholders to prepare them for the relocation, and providing planning advice to manage risk.

In addition, The APP Group helped SA Health to procure medical equipment for the new hospital. The team tracked and reported progress on the sourcing of 10,000 items including hyperbaric chambers and mobility aids to ensure minimal disruption to the procurement program.
