Transforming an iconic modernist skyscraper into a premier financial and commercial destination.
Designed in 1991 by modernist architect Harry Seidler, the 40-storey QV1 building is an architectural landmark renowned for its magnificent lobby with panoramic views of the Swan River. As part of the strategy to revive the building, owners AXA and Investa Property Group jointly funded a redevelopment program to upgrade its amenities, while staying true to Seidler’s original vision.
The APP Group provided Project Management services for the first stage of the redevelopment from the concept design phase through to the delivery of the upgrades. The role included the development of programs to stage the construction works and minimise impacts on tenants.
The transformation included a contemporary refurbishment of the plaza with an installation of an Oculus, premium-grade end-trip facilities and a childcare centre.
