Waikato Stadium Temporary Stand
Supporting an international sporting event in New Zealand.
In advance of the Tri-Nations Test taking place on 12 September 2009 between the New Zealand All Blacks and South Africa Springbocks, Waikato Rugby needed to increase stadium capacity to accommodate the crowds.
The APP Group was appointed to project manage the construction and deconstruction of approximately 6,000 seats within a temporary stand with would be used on match day. The construction required building consent and a number of other approvals from the local council due to the temporary stand closing off a nearby street and local planning rules restricting the timeframe to construct and stake down the stand.
