Sydney Metro

Sydney Metro

Building the vision for Sydney’s future on Australia’s biggest public transport project

The Sydney Metro is Australia’s biggest public transport project and will significantly change how people move around Sydney. They will provide mass rapid transport connections to Sydney’s Northwest, West and Sydney’s second international airport which is due to open in 2026. By 2030 Sydney Metro will have four lines, 46 stations and 113km of new metro rail.

The new turn-up-and-go metro services are fast, reliable and Australia’s only fully accessible and driverless train service. While Sydney’s suburban train network carries up to 24,000 people per hour on a line, Sydney Metro will have a target capacity of 40,000 people per hour.

The APP Group continues to deliver a range of services across the four main projects and lines in the Sydney Metro network.
