University of Newcastle City Campus Student Accommodation
Expanding Housing Opportunities for Newcastle’s Next Generation of University Students.
The University of Newcastle has instilled its continued trust in The APP Group to Project Manage its City Campus Student Accommodation project, having previously delivered their 6-Star Green Star Certified Q Building in mid-2021. The project will deliver a vital piece of student accommodation infrastructure to the Newcastle CBD, addressing the growing demand for housing in the market. This project seeks to accommodate 445 students and will feature outdoor communal spaces, ground-floor amenities, and retail.
In 2019, our team assisted with early strategic involvement in the City Campus Masterplan to determine the feasibility of a student accommodation project, engage with key consultants and developed a Business Case and Strategic Merits Paper. In late 2022, the business case was revised and shortly after, The APP Group was appointed as Project Manager for the Student Accommodation project. Our team have engaged the consultant team on behalf of the University to oversee the design and construction process, assist in tender processes, and undertake project management and contract administration services throughout construction and the defect liability period.
The City Campus Student Accommodation is currently in the Detailed Design phase and construction is expected to be completed by 2026.
