The APP Group appoints Kanchana Perera as General Manager, Energy & Renewables

The APP Group is pleased to welcome Kanchana Perera as General Manager, Energy & Renewables.  

Kanchana joins The APP Group from the strategic advisory and investment consultancy, Karenewal Energy, which she founded in 2022 to support large organisations to deliver on their role in the energy transition.  

With a background in commercial management, development management, stakeholder engagement, mergers and acquisitions and due diligence, Kanchana has more than 15 years of experience across the energy and resources sector in Australia and the Asia Pacific region.  

Kanchana brings deep experience closing and developing deals in largescale windfarms, solar, pumped hydro, battery energy storage systems, microgrids, hydrogen assets and firming via traditional generation and emerging technologies for assets between $100 million to $1.5 billion. Furthermore, Kanchana has recommended solutions to grid challenges within the electricity sector by consulting stakeholders and providing input to industry bodies.
