The APP Group welcomes back Josh Owen as General Manager, Advisory and Planning.

The APP Group (APP) welcomes back Josh Owen as General Manager, Advisory and Planning to our Property and Social Infrastructure business following two years in the lifestyle and recreation sector. 

Josh is a passionate advocate for urban development, with significant expertise in master planning and strategic advisory for cities and precincts. 

He states “With my return to APP, I look forward to creating and developing great places and city improvement projects across NSW. My aim is to support and grow the capability of our young future leaders and develop APP’s Advisory and Planning team members to have a strong grounding in creating places that have a strong sense of commercial, social and environmental wellbeing.”

Josh’s decision to return to APP was to broaden his horizons across APP’s strategic property advisory space and take on the housing sector. He is motivated by the opportunity to manage large advisory programs for social infrastructure and grow a team of professionals who specialise in development management, feasibility, business cases, masterplanning and environmental services. He recognised that our core values and shift towards sector approach align with his professional goals.

Josh joined APP in 2016 and worked on multiple large-scale projects including New Breeze at Bardia, Menangle Park (winner of the Real Estate Asia Awards 2022 Australian Masterplan Development of the Year) Showground Station precinct where he was involved in the masterplanning, rezoning and development approvals. He has worked on range of other projects for the likes of Landcom, TfNSW, multiple Councils, Greater Sydney Parklands, the Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure, Health Infrastructure NSW and the NSW Valuer General. 

In 2022, Josh joined Ingenia Communities as National Planning Manager, working across the Acquisitions, Operations and Development Teams assisting with due diligence and feasibility assessments, development approvals and operational compliance and project scoping during construction. He developed understanding and knowledge of the VIC, QLD and WA legislative frameworks and formed advocacy groups for land lease community operators to improve regulatory frameworks which he remains involved with
