Bruce Highway Safety Upgrade

Bruce Highway Upgrade – Cairns Southern Access Corridor Stage 3, Edmonton to Gordonvale (E2G)

Making Queensland’s major coastal highway safer and more resilient.

The Bruce Highway is a major highway that extends for 1,673 kilometres between Brisbane and Cairns connecting coastal cities, towns and ports with links to inland agriculture production. The Bruce Highway Upgrade Program is the largest road infrastructure project in Queensland’s history and is designed to improve safety, flood resilience and capacity. The $13 billion program began in 2013 and is expected to be completed by 2028.

The APP Group was engaged across several projects for the Bruce Highway Safety Upgrade between Ayr and Townsville, including Stage 3 between Edmonton and Gordonvale. Our team provided Assurance, Compliance, and Certification services for this project.

This project involved the duplication of a 10.5 km section of the highway to create a four-lane highway, upgraded signalised intersections, realignment and upgrade of the Queensland Rail North Coast Line, and a new overpass south of Maitland Road connecting Pine Creek-Yarrabah Road and Maitland Road.

We also worked on the upgrade between Clairview to Prosperine.
