The Castle Residences & MGallery Hotel
Sydney landmark redeveloped into luxury apartments and hotel, creating a distinctive offering in the Australian market.
United Development constructed the ultimate CBD address through a 36-storey mixed-use tower and the sensitive refurbishment of the 5-storey heritage listed building, the Porter House. The Porter House has transformed into a boutique hotel hosting 121 luxury hotel rooms over 10 levels, a grand lobby, and complementary functions.
The Castle Residencies houses 131 Manhattan style apartments with an off-form concrete dome façade, a residential tower cantilevers from the hotel podium level over the Porter House, and a stepped sky garden overlooking Hyde Park.
The APP Group was appointed by United Development to be the Project Manager and Superintendent for the project. The team provided services including overseeing the demolition of existing structures, liaising with relevant stakeholders to facilitate communications and secure agreements, and administering the construction of the four-level basement car park. We also reviewed the design brief which included the building structure and core configuration, hotel and apartment layouts, and the fitout of Porter House for the hotel lobby and hospitality facilities.
