Transforming a historic pavilion into a world-class sporting and community hub in an iconic Sydney location.
This exciting project involves adaptive re-use of the iconic heritage-listed Royal Hall of Industries at Moore Park to meet the Swans’ vision of a world-class facility that respects the cultural, architectural and heritage significance of the site, while balancing community needs with high-performance sport.
The facility which is the new home for the Sydney Swans' elite men's and women's teams, as well as more than 700 young athletes, boys and girls, engaged in the QBE Sydney Swans Academy. The construction includes an international standard netball court and training facility, which caters to community and elite players while also providing valuable infrastructure for the 2027 Netball World Cup to be hosted in NSW.
The APP Group was appointed to provide Project Management and Superintendent services for the Sydney Swans Centre of Excellence project. The team led the Concept Design, SSDA approval and procurement processes, and provided stakeholder and community engagement services.
Community sits at the core of this project. In addition to providing a new meeting place for more than 50,000 members and one million fans, the Sydney Swans HQ is also the home of several community partners including the GO Foundation, which seeks to empower youth through education.
A world-class training facility that is the new home for the Sydney Swans.
