Auckland One Rail

In October 2022, Auckland One Rail (AOR), a UGL and ComfortDelGro company, engaged the services of The APP Group.

The brief was to conduct a full review of the operational readiness of AOR for the transition to a new franchise agreement with Auckland Transport. The project included the hard maintenance of business transition and compliance with the new franchise agreement with Auckland Transport.

Upon the initial review, it was discovered that a more hands-on approach was required to achieve the transition timelines for the client. The APP Group had to be agile to accompany the new direction and pivot into an implementation project delivery model in order to flex-in and fill in any gaps identified for the success of the Franchise Agreement.

This included:

• Project management of the transition program
• Greenfield implementation of Maximo EAM (workflows, data structure, security groups etc.)
• Project management of mobility tool
• Design and implementation of data transfer strategy
• Providing independent advice on the procurement of Maintenance Contracts
• Design of levels of service
• Design of new organisational structure
• Design of 5-year improvement roadmap

The Project provided AOR with a successful hard maintenance transition to comply with the Franchise Agreement with Auckland Transport worth $180 million annually.
