Dalby State High School - Multi-Purpose Hall

Delivering and upgrading local Queensland school’s multipurpose hall to encourage usage for wellbeing and community services.

As part of the Queensland Department of Education’s (DoE) 2020–21 State Budget, the 'Great Schools, Great Future' program was announced which will improve schools across the state, with an aggregate investment of $259 million over 3 years for 18 projects including new halls, performing arts facilities and covered areas at selected state schools. The DoE is investing in hundreds of infrastructure upgrades which include refurbishment of existing school infrastructure, and local projects such as Outside School Hours Care, playground and fencing upgrades.

The APP Group has been engaged by the DoE to provide Project Management and Superintendent Services to manage the design and construction of a new multipurpose hall at Dalby State High School. Our team are also involved in design management, town planning, geotechnical investigations and contractor procurement.

The new hall is purpose-built to significantly improve Dalby State High School’s sports and recreation infrastructure and student activities. This project includes:

  • Ensuring the sporting hall meets national standards for actively playing basketball, volleyball, badminton, pickleball, netball and handball.
  • Upgrading the main reception, offices, IT room, change rooms and amenities
  • Improving the playground area and external covered links to surrounding buildings and connections.
  • Demolition of existing amenities block including asbestos removal
  • Solar infrastructure upgrades & relocation
  • Facilities Management area

Dalby State High School’s new multiple purpose hall will encourage usage for sporting purposes to sustain health and wellbeing, improve community services and deliver a more comfortable teaching and learning environment for students, teachers and school communities.
