White Bay Power Station Redevelopment
Utilising and redeveloping a heritage listed power station in NSW.
The Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority appointed The APP Group to provide project management services for this urban redevelopment project initiated by the NSW government to provide commercial redevelopment options for the disused heritage listed power station.
The development comprised of over 5 hectares of new building and refurbishment of the heritage buildings, with a mixture of commercial, cultural, arts and leisure space. Incorporation of best practice ecological sustainable development principles was an integral part of the development strategy and marketing for the project.
Our role on the project included the management of:
- investigation for remediation of site contamination
- investigation of existing services, including major electrical assets, roads, stormwater, sewerage, water, electricity and telecommunications to service proposed development options
- parking requirements for site
- building fabric contamination and demolition requirements,
- Conservation Management Plan and public open space
