Sunnybank Hills State School

The Queensland Department of Education (DoE) is investing in hundreds of infrastructure upgrades to improve schools across the state, with an aggregate investment of nearly $284 million over 2 years for additional classrooms to be built at existing schools experiencing in-catchment enrolment growth. The DoE is committed to building contemporary fit-for-purpose learning environments that support students to learn in state-of-the-art facilities and provide spaces to cater for growth.

The APP Group has been engaged to deliver new education facilities on time, within budget and to the correct level of quality and effectiveness – enhancing the school’s reputation and capacity to educate students in the local catchment. Our team will be providing project management and superintendent services for the: 

• Design and construction of a new two-storey General Learning Area Building with associated covered links connecting the building back into the main school
• Demolition and relocation of the existing tennis courts to a new location 
• Extension to the existing admin block (including some refurbishment work to the remaining spaces) to accommodate redefined reception area, visitor experience and office areas.
• Removal of three existing temporary buildings including make-good upon removal
• Refurbishment of the E-Learning Centre to enhance ventilation and natural light environment, fixed furniture and fittings and improve the functional layout
• Changes to or additional carpark areas 

This project will encourage increased usage for education purposes, improve teaching and learning environments for students, teachers and school communities, and enhance Sunnybank Hill State School’s reputation and capacity to support educational outcomes.
